ABOUT ME
I'm just a simple minded guy who has somehow willed my way into graduate school (twice). My non-traditional path to academia involves deviating from a corporate career trajectory and following an innate connection with coastal environments.

I've been surfing for ~15 years and can not imagine my life without it. A love for all things surfing has lead to a deep appreciation of coastal environments as well as great respect for coastal hazards. I am passionate about the preservation of our coastal resources and improving our understanding of these dynamic environments.
My research focuses on coastal hazards. I analyze coastal stratigraphic evidence of relative sea-level changes. I am motivated by the idea that my work can contribute toward future hazard mitigation plans and the protection of coastal landscapes.
